Dr. Mark Berkman
Dr. Mark E. Berkman grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and was a valedictorian of his graduating class at Bexley High School. While in dental school, Dr. Berkman was named a Research Scholar by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and spent a year engaged in research at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Berkman subsequently attended the University of Michigan, where he received his Master of Science (MS) degree and specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Berkman is currently licensed as a specialist in orthodontics in the state of Michigan, and is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is past-President of the Michigan Association of Orthodontists, and is a nationally-recognized educator on a variety of current topics in Orthodontics. Aside from orthodontics, Dr. Berkman is a PADI-certified SCUBA Instructor and Rescue Diver, as well as an instrument-rated pilot who enjoys flying airplanes. Some of his other interests include running, tennis, and skiing. He and his wife Lindsey, a periodontist, live in Wolverine Lake, where they are raising their two daughters.
